Pup

I was getting Tanner to bed last night and we were talking about "Pup", his stuffed dog that he sleeps with every night. The night before, I went into his room for a goodnight hug and kiss and noticed he didn't have Pup beside him in the bed. I asked him if he didn't want Pup to sleep with him and Tanner said, "No, I want the WHOLE bed". I picked up Pup, gave him a hug, and sadly put him at the foot of the bed instead. I thought to myself that my little man was growing up and didn't need his favorite Pup anymore at bedtime (boohoo!). Later that night, I went to check on Tanner, and Pup was lying in his usual spot - next to Tanner's pillow. (Smile!) Anyway, back to the conversation we were having.......... I said to Tanner, "I thought you didn't want to sleep with Pup last night - you said you wanted the WHOLE bed." And he replied, "Well, I wanted to sleep!" I said "Could you not sleep without Pup?" and he said emphatically "NO!" Bless his little heart.... he couldn't get to sleep without Pup by his side.
