For the second year in a row, our family participated in the Tie Dye Invitational 5K Race, sponsored by Healthworks! (where I work!), and held on the cross country trail at Ballard Park. It is a whappy, fun time with a lot of running, crazy hats and prizes, and even noise makers! Terry is the only true 'runner' in our family - I wish I could get motivated to be a runner! - but we all participate. Maybe the kids years of soccer should count them as 'runners' too??
This year, Terry, Anna and Tanner zipped through the 3 miles like it was a sprint! Avery and I ran/walked the race at a much slower pace. We all beat our times from last year - woohoo! - and had a lot of fun to boot! It's a fun thing to do as a family and to support a healthy lifestyle!
Some of the crazy trophies for the winners!
They were decked out with fruits, vegetables, Geritol and even a light bulb!
Before the race!
The theme this year was "It's fun to run at 8:41!"
Brian McCoy took these pics during the race.
Go Tanner!
Go Terry!!
Here they come!
Making their move.....
Passing another participant
And another!
I hope Terry is not rubbing it in! Look at him laughing!
I was excited Brian got some action shots. Too bad Avery and I weren't up there with the others.
Avery and Beth Brinkley after the race
Finishers!! Sweaty and happy!
Way to go!
Avery - 12 (6th grade) Anna - 10 (4th grade) Tanner - 7 (1st grade)

Tanner got a noise maker
The kids completed their 2nd 5K! Great job! After running it last year for the first time, I really didn't think they would want to do it again, but they did - even without me twisting any arms or begging!! I love that they are so active and I hope they always will be. It's fun to do things like this as a family. Even if some of the family is slower than others!
