Avery's Awards

The last days of school are so incredibly busy! There is so much going on with: end of the year parties, awards programs, splash parties, teacher gifts to buy and give, all day picnics, AR rewards cookout, not to mention a few work days for me in there somewhere ............. and the list goes on!! It hit me the other day, after I had hit my wall and was about to completely give out, that I was now doing end of the year things with 3 kids - all 3! This is the first year all 3 have been in big school with all these things going on all at once! NO WONDER! Every hour of the day was spent going somewhere!! Tiring....but exciting for the kids! The last week of school is definitely one of the funnest.

Avery's lasts days of 5th grade involved many fun things. She had the all day honor roll picnic at Ballard Park that was a lot of fun for the kids, a cookout for the students that met the reading point requirements, a fun field day that just her 2 teachers decided to do for their classes, and then the finale - Awards Day.

The 5th grade awards day was on the last day of school and we all gathered at the Milam auditorium to watch it. The kids were individually announced and had to walk across the stage to stand while the teacher told what awards that student had won. Avery did very well! She won the following awards in her class:
National Physical Fitness Award
Highest average in Spelling
Highest average in Math
Highest average in Science
Highest average in Reading
Highest average in Language
Highest Academic Achievement (All A's!)
