The day of Tanner's very first Kindergarten field trip had finally arrived! We were headed to Blue Mountain to Pumpkin Patch Farms! Even though Tanner had been there before with the rest of our family, this day was special because he was going on a Tupelo Golden Wave bus with his class! He wasn't exactly thrilled over riding the bus for some reason. Maybe it was the knowledge that both sisters had gotten "bus" sick on field trips before and he didn't want to fall victim to that too?? I don't really know. But the morning of the trip, his class loaded up and he jumped on the bus with the rest of them. Me and 2 other mommies followed in our car and when we got there, Tanner was all smiles. He loved the bus! (And hadn't gotten sick! Woohoo!) He sat with his buddy Katelyn McCoy and she had kept him entertained (she is really funny!)!
The day went by fast. They did all sorts of fun things: watched some barn "theater", played on a giant bouncy slide, rode the train, rode on monster trikes in Haytona (get it? Daytona-Haytona?), ran many times through a cool hay maze, fed some animals, and (this mommy's favorite) rode the wagon out to the pumpkin patch to find the perfect pumpkin!

Tanner looked and looked for THE pumpkin. I couldn't keep up with him - he was running all over the place. He and his buddy, Jaquavious, wanted a BIG one and had to search long and hard to find one. This year we actually picked the pumpkins off the vine - which was cool. Other times, because of dry summers, the pumpkins had just been laid out in the field. Tanner finally found one - and so did Jaquavious. We loaded back up on the wagon and headed back for lunch.

It was a fun, fun day with beautiful weather! When I picked Tanner up later from school, he told me that he and Jaquavious had sat together on the bus ride home and had both taken a nap. I think several of them did! But it was "good" kind of tired! He couldn't wait to show Daddy, Avery and Anna his pumpkin - and mine (it was a cool green one!).

Tracey,
Didn't know you had a blog, I received a comment from Carol Mason on the high school blog and checked her blog out and found yours, I am going to add it to my family blog page. This stuff is addicting. Kerrie
