The Goggans: Avery turns 13!

It's hard to believe Avery is 13 years old! Time really goes by too fast! We celebrated her birthday by going out to eat and then home for cake and presents. Usually I make her birthday cake for the party she has with her friends, but this year Avery didn't want a party - she just wanted to invite a few friends to an Ole Miss game - so we settled for the ice cream cake we always have on the kids actual birthday.

My sweet first child is growing up way too fast! I want it to slow down because I'm not fully ready to have a teenager! Avery is such a sweet, funny girl. She's smart and thoughtful and is really a joy to be around. I can't wait to see the things God has planned for her life! I thank God every day for choosing me to be her Mom and I have loved every minute (almost - hee hee) of her 13 years!

Wow! A teenager! September 7, 2010

Avery got a cell phone for her birthday! She was probably the very last one in her grade to get one! :( Ha!

Avery invited Amy Haadsma to an Ole Miss game for her birthday. They have been friends since 1st grade.

After the football game, we went to eat at Old Taylor Grocery. It's a great place to eat catfish and I used to go there when I was in college. It used to be half restaurant and half grocery store. Now it is just a restaurant. You can write your name on the walls and you can still see my name where I climbed up the grocery store shelves to sign near the ceiling! The kids had fun signing their names while we were there. This pic is Terry outside Old Taylor while we were waiting to be seated.
